Tina Fey Helping or Hurting Palin?

I know, I know. I'm obsessed with this Tina Fey as Sarah Palin shtick. But as is the case with many things: I can't help myself. I found a Time article that deals with how Fey, a comedian, may be affecting the way the voters view Palin. View the clip below, and comment.

Hm, I think a person who doesn't update themselves with the current goings or just really doesn't really care about current politics period, would get an awful interpretation of her. I mean, I'm getting an awful view of her right now and it isn't even really her. So, that's my comment on this video. =D

This is Autumn from second period world history. I think some of the comments and statements in the video were sexist but they made it humurous enough for people not to really notice some of the sexist comments.

What do you think sexist means? What is sexism?

I think sexist means to discriminate against someone because of their gender. Personally, I believe this years' election is based on mostly gender and race. One, because some people want to see a woman become president. Two, because Obama is of different race from our other former presidents. I believe that people shouldn't vote that way. They should vote for what's best for this country. Yet at the same time, I believe people voted for certain people because they wanted someone new, someone different that could probably make this world a better place.

Wow, that was...funny.
Well I had to keep reminding myself that it was only a comedy sketch. Sometimes I can;t tell the difference between Sarah and when Tina's playing Sarah. The most humorous thing about this was the whole "lifeline: phone a friend" thing and "when cornered you become adorable" I don't think Tina's hurting nor helping Sarah, at least not to me, but pointing out the things that are making her so well-known. In my opinon (due to my grandfather) I think because Barack had some fame and credibility because of his race, and the fact he was running against a female former first-lady, McCain was just floating around as "that Republican candidate." So he went and grabbed himself a package potential VP. A woman, young woman, young hot woman, a young hot woman with a young pregnant daughter to throw the attention off Barack for a while. And oh boy, it's working. I was watching the Daily Show on comedy central and Jon Stewart showed clips from the Townhall presidential debate. He made McCain lool like an old lost dog. But he made a point that in ways neither candidate is absolutely ready to run this country, but McCain more than Obama and at moment Sarah Palin could just be so...oblivious. She and McCain have personality, and know how to get people...going (not necessarily political-wise) Like you pointed out in class one day, Sarah Palin seemed totally lost in the VP debate, but she looked awesome! Well in all, Tina is just giving America a better laugh out of Sarah.

I'm just saying :]

~And in context to your other question....

I think sexist means descrimination based on gender.
