The World is Yours to Take and Shape.

You're almost Sophomores! I proud of and excited by the reflectiveness I have seen you Freshmen develop this year. Historical Thinking and reflectiveness is a SKILL that must be cultivated to make meaning of your learning. It personalizes learning and empowers you by encouraging OWNERSHIP of your thoughts, ideas and feelings. Empathy connects us to History. The best thinkers have both voice and vision--reflection and interpretation forms the heart of that voice. As college bound thinkers, I want you to continue to develop YOUR voice.

Let's use this space to review your experience of World History. Motivation drove our inquiry throughout the year: What motivates man to make the decisions that s/he makes in History? To interact with others the way s/he does? Our study of World History has been a study of people and their interactions not only with each other, but also with places and "things." Share your closing thoughts about this question. How has this year in World History impacted the way you think about or see the world? Be specific about what topics or activities made you the most CURIOUS.

Then...consider your (OUR) future after watching "The Way Kids See it" above. With the knowledge you've gained from this class, how can any of it inform the way that your generation shapes the World?  What hope is there for our future? We might now ever be able to end War and Violence, but what goals should we set as members of the Global community?

After a school year of World History, I believe what drives man to make the movements and choices he does is to gain and obtain happiness. Of course, happiness and the method of achieving the feeling is different for everyone in every time period. For example, in the Paleolithic Age happiness came from just finding food and being able to survive but as civilization got more advanced, happiness called for advanced values. In Ancient Greece (2000 B.C. - 300 B.C.), happiness called for finding the right governmental way of ruling… monarchy, aristocracy, oligarchy, or democracy? Altogether happiness means to achieve all your goals or values successfully.
This course has helped me to see the world as a journey with checkpoints. Some checkpoints are basic rites of passage like graduating high school or getting married. But I’ve learned through this course that life is personalized to the human being living it. Like the Age of Enlightenment, where people learned to live more for themselves now then for God later. During that age, humans discovered elements of science, music, literature, government, philosophy, style, and just the overall importantance of an individual. By realizing all this, life is to be made my own and I don’t have to stick to any designed path… but I’m obviously going to graduate high school.
After watching “The Way Kids See It,” it inspires me to look at life in a more optimistic way. This is also the feeling Judy Meisel gave me. Life is to be lived to fullest extent of all your powers. You can help others and make the world a better place. We all have that power! This generation has so much potential. With all of the blessings we are given, a safe place to lay our heads at night and our access to marvelous technology, we can do so much in our own backyard. We can share ideas on the internet, whether it is a blog or YouTube. We can organize park clean-ups with one single group text message. There are so many opportunities we have yet to unlock and I’m stoked for the future.

After taking this World History course, I believe that what motivated man to make the choices that he/she makes has a lot to do with greed and happiness. The wars that take place and the people who run the wars represent both of my points.

If you are the leader of a country, all you care about is more, more, more. They don't care how they treat their citizens, as long as they keep getting more land and money, they are happy. WWI is a prime example of this. Leaders needed soldiers to fight on their side so that they can defeat the other country, but nobody would sign up to fight and die,so they used propaganda to get the soldiers to fight in the war for them. This makes them happy because they don't have to lift a finger because their citizens are fighting for them.

The bigger picture of what motivates man is happiness. I agree with Bella in stating that happiness is different in each time period to achieve. In the earlier era's, happiness came with getting food to be able to support your family. As time went on, this idea has grew, like adding currency, and getting urbanized jobs like in the Industrial Revolution. You can tie all of man's motivation to his/her families. After studying every chapter whether it was Ancient Greece all the way to the Industrial Revolution, it was always about the whole family working to support their family.

Another approach on happiness is like what Bella has stated. The main goal is to gain governmental and economical stability. A lot of governmental changes have been made. Some of them are democracy, communism, socialism, feudalism, oligarchy, monarchy, and aristocracy. We still haven't found the perfect way to run our country, but I hope that we will eventually.

Like Bella, this course has made me look at the world as checkpoints. Different era's have tried different this on how to ruled and live. As time goes on, things have modernized and have become exponentially more efficient. Life is like an ongoing Science experiment. Trial and error until equilibrium, the desired result, and happiness is reached.

Many ideas have made me curious after taking this course. Religion will always be a questioning thought in my mind. Where does the idea of GOD come from? Does' GOD exist? Why are their different religions that believe in different things? One topic that I can see myself pursuing after taking this course is becoming a philosopher. I think that it is really interesting to be able to come up with answers for life's mysteries. I want to research and travel around the world to try and answer some of the questions that nobody knows the answer to.

After watching "The Way Kids See It", it has inspired me to make a difference. I believe that when you are little, you can't make a big difference, but if you are raised to make little differences, as you grow up, it will feel like your civic duty to make a big difference to better the world. This video inspires me to make a big difference when I get older and to raise my kids the way that I have explained above. If every family practices this way of life, then I believe that our future is bright. The world will become a nice place to live in again.

Some goals that each community should set is to grow a local garden, have monthly trash clean-ups and just raise your children right. Everyone's little difference will evolve into a huge difference that will change the world in a great way exponentially. If people can change the future for the better in this way, then I am excited to live my life because it will be worth living.

After learning all that I have in World History this past year, I believe what motivates man to make the decisions s/he makes in history is to have power and to have as much of an easy life as possible. To have power means to have control over others, whether it be financially, resourcefully, etc. Having power motivates man because man always wants to have the reassurance that s/he is in control over others. Take slaves/peasants as examples. The "owners" of these people had slaves/peasants to be in control and have them do their work to make their lives easier. Taking the free will from these people was a choice. Slavery could have very well never existed but since man was motivated to have power, s/he made the choice to own others. Another example is the Industrial Revolution. The Industrial Revolution was an era where machinery took over previous tasks that man had to physically work on. Machinery was developed for an easier lifestyle so people did not have to work as hard or long as they previously had. This eventually led to battles for power and control in both WW1 and WW2. Overall, man is motivated to make the decisions s/he does for power and easiness.
What motivates man to interact with others the way s/he does are the same reasons previously mentioned. Man always wants/wanted to feel mightier than his/her fellow people. Because of this, many conflicts have taken place over the years, some larger conflicts than others. Despite having "allies" and forming friendships with other nations, man always thinks about what will/would benefit his/her own land.
This year in World History has totally impacted the way I think about/see the world. My first reason is finally understanding the reasons behind the decisions that people have made over the years. For example, I finally understood why America joined World War 1. Before this year, I never understood what motivated America to join such an ugly war that would eventually cost many, many lives. Learning how Germany antagonized our country and how it was treated finally allowed me to understand America's decision. My final example of how this year impacted the way I see the world is how it made me realize that I could very well make a difference in the world. Prior to this course, I always thought about ways I could make a difference or help the world but I would never follow through with my ideas. Being a part of this course made me realize that no matter how silly or small my ideas may be, there is no harm in trying and following through with them because they very well may help our world.
After watching "The Way Kids See It," I was both informed and inspired. After watching the video, I realized that my generation has so much potential on shaping the world. Kids younger than us are driven to change the world we live in and knowing that fact inspires me because I now know that I myself and all other people of my generation have the potential to change the world.
There is so much hope for our future! People today take advantage of the world and think that it will not change. Because of this, there are so many parts of the world that are in need of help and I believe our generation can be that help. With our intelligence, dedication and determination, I believe our generation can come up with ideas that will help the world and make it better for our future generations!
As members of the Global community, I believe we should set goals that involve peace methods. There have been so many instances in history where people believed violence was the immediate solution to conflicts but in reality, violence only enhanced the conflicts. Developing peace methods is a great start for our generation because if we are able to maintain peace in our conflicts, our world will become a much safer and overall better place. In conclusion, I have learned so much during this past year and because of this, I am inspired to help be the change our world needs!

After taking World History, I believe what motivates man to make the decisions s/he makes is power and happiness. Man tries to achieve happiness and tries to do what’s best for him/herself. Power is a big deal. Without power, you have no say.

This coarse changed the way I see the world today. I’ve learned to actually take in what’s around me. We have to see the better in the world. There’s so much around us but we choose to not look.

After watching ‘The Ways Kids See it”, I realized we can all do something to change the world. Even though we may be young, there’s always something to do to make a difference. It was very inspiring to see children taking problems into their own hands.

There are many goals we can set as a community. Pollution is a big problem in the world today. To change this, we can clean up our surrounding areas. Every little thing we do can make a big change.

I think that what motivates man to make the decisions that he/she does is the want and greed for power, wealth, land, and all of the other luxurious things in life that most people don't have in order for the person to be happy, or at least think they are. This greed led to wars and deaths that could all have most likely been avoided if people were just happy with how they lived and the way they were. I think that man interacts with other people the way that he/she does for the same reasons. People sometimes interact with others for their own benefits, using them for money and power, but other times they interact with others in order to build relationships that will satisfy their own happiness as well as the others.

I think that this year in World History has made me more opened minded. This made me think about and see the world in a different light and helped me better understand why people do and think the way that they do. I think the debates we've had in class where we took a stand changed my thinking the most along with the discussions we've had about different global events. This year in World History has also given me more of an interest in history itself which I've never really had before.

The video "The Way Kids See It" shows that our generation has the motivation, skill, and innovative thinking in order to shape the world we have today into something better and cleaner than what it is now. I think that there is great hope for our future. It shows in the video, children not much younger than us building things to sanitize and clean the oceans of trash and the waters and air of pollution. I think that this shows that our generation has great determination and motivation to change the world we live in for the better.

I think that some goals we should set as members of the global community is to lessen the pollution around us by picking up trash and recycling more along with saving energy and being more resourceful in our everyday lives.

In history I feel like happiness motivates man. Happiness is obtained in different ways. Happiness can be obtained through greed, and happiness can be obtained through being grateful. I feel like happiness is obtained through greed by wanting goals and achieving that goal. But greed takes away peoples gratefulness and then they can't be happy. For example, all throughout history people have been greedy to take over land. Like the British wanting to take the United States back and that greed started a war. Luckily they didn't achieve the United States, and today we are very grateful for the land we have.

Within this course I am very grateful, because I feel as if I had matured (even in the slightest bit) and achieved milestones in my life. I feel like my favorite activities were taking a stand and having a debate with our classmates. Even now the socialism vs. capitalism debate still runs through my mind just like many others. This course has made me look at the world and look at my life in many different ways. Some I began to hate, and some I began to like. That is why there is always change. Change will help change those things of hate into something that's able to be liked by you and many others. I am glad about taking World History it has been fun, and I am hoping it'll be fun taking African American history with you next year, Mr. Jobs (no pressure).

From the video, I feel that our generation can change the world through spreading love. There is a lot of hope for our future if we put our minds right and can bring peace to each other. We can do this by helping each other out instead of letting them work alone. We all work better as a team rather than individually. I also feel that spreading love will help change our future. If we spread one bit of hate, then I feel as if it will cause a hate-chain. This chain will go onto the one person that was hated will put that hate on another person and that hate will go on and on. That is why we should end that hate chain and spread love instead. I wonder what lies beyond our future.

We have had World History for almost one year now. I think that man does what s/he does for multiple reasons. They do it for reasons such as attention, for rewards, and for their religion. I see the world and its history different. I now know why the people did what they did. I also know how people were treated. I was interested in the Industrial Revolution and I was amazed with the amazing inventions and improvements.

I think our generation has a bright future. The older half of the generation (some of us) just sit on the couch and text people while eating pizza. The younger half (the kids in "The Way Kids See It") makes the future look really bright. So bright that you need sunglasses. They are the inspiring people that will do something important to impact the community in a good way. I think that with these kids, there could be an end to war and violence. We should start by setting a goal of having a nice clean community with no garbage or trash in the streets. After we change the environment to make it more positive, there could be more positive people. I think that we have a bright future because of the kids in "The Way Kids See It".

World History has definitely impacted the way I see the world. In my earlier years of Social Studies, it was never really interested because we never engaged in current events or historical thinking. But I honestly thought history class was pointless in the beginning of the school year. Sadly, I grew to hate it. But it was during the 3rd term when my mindset began to change and I began questioning things I never thought I would. And I’ve grown to love history. I’m very curious on what or who began the thought or say that men is higher than women because that shaped our world today and the discrimination among the races and cultures that are different. Women can do a lot of things that men can do. Even though us women gained our rights, we are still facing sexism with the amount of money we get with the same jobs, about rape: where girls are being taught how to not get raped while no one is teaching boys how to not rape girls, how our breasts our sexualize when it isn’t even a sexual organ, but something to feed babies, etc. Stereotypes on different races, peoples, religions, etc. are being strongly used. There are so many problems that many of us do not know because it is not publicized enough for our knowledge.
I am very curious with our reasons of interactions. I constantly think about our big essential question: What motivates man to make the decisions that s/he makes in History? To interact with others the way s/he does? It’s a really great question to ponder over whenever you’re in the streets or on the internet. I really enjoy the lawyer program you provided us. I learned so many interesting things about how the court works with problems and justice. I’ve grown to love to engage into those activities, especially with more serious situations like racism, sexism, and feminism. I really love everything about World History this year.
I really believe in our children/future. We need to influence more good into their lives and encourage them to imagine beyond possible and dream bigger. But with expectations and rules that society has made, makes it difficult. We are pressured to be ourselves and to share our thoughts because of the fear of judgement and embarrassed. But I still believe in children because they have imagination and curiosity and with those things they really can change the world with encouragement and motivation. They can’t do it alone. We need to help them go forward towards the next step. We should become better people ourselves before we can help these amazing children. We need to become better inspirations to them so they can become better people and change the world.

There could be hope for the future, unfortunately there probably won't. Each generation gets lazier and lazier. The kids in the video that talk about inventing things to help the world will probably grow up and realize they can't. Im sure as children, we all dreamed about helping the world, but we never do. Now if we want to maje a difference then we need to get off our butts and do something about it. One thing i learned in this class is about motivation towards civilization. If we want to move towards civilization we need the motivation. I think our motivation comnes from world problems and it exilerates us to do something about it.

I think power movitated man to make the choices he makes. I believe this because if man didn't want to better himself and build himself up in the world then he wouldn't make the choices he made. Everyone in this world wants to better themselves and be something in the world. Man would do anything to be most powerful and be the bet at everything.
This year, world history has taught me that everyone has different views on the world and changed the way i view people. I resprect everyones opinion now and try to listen even when i disagree. After watching the video in class i realized that everyone makes a difference. If we want the world to be a better place we all need to step in and help out instead of sitting back and waiting for something to happen. We can change. We can make a difference.

I believe that a person makes the choices he/she does because they want to be satisfied. People interact with other people because it is a need. Maslow's hierarchy pyramid explains that esteem and belonging are basic needs of life. This includes being respected and friendships.
Children cleaning up beaches, and feeding families is really inspirational. "The Way Kids See It" video shows that our generation can shape a big part of the world.
I believe that our future has hope. I think it has hope to become a clean and dignified world. The kids of our generation are what will take us out of the struggle we are going through all over the world.

William Whiteley said...

I that what motivates man to make the choices s/he makes is satisfaction. I think this because when you are satisfied you are happy and that is generally a life goal, to be happy. This year has caused me to change in very unsuspected ways. I began thinking about different ways and to think about both sides of the problem. After learning about the Industrial Revolution I realized that man did all these things to become satisfied with the new technology and make their jobs easier. When they weren't satisfied we began making even more technology to make our jobs easier. The world will never be satisfied and so we will keep making more and more technology. Our future will keep changing until we are all satisfied.

I believe that a person makes the choices s/he does because they want to be satisfied. They interact with others the way they do because it is a need. This reminds me of two of the steps of Maslow's Hierachy. These two steps are Esteem and Belonging. Within these two stages are friendship and being respected by others.

After watching the video "The Way Kids See It", I have learned how our generation shapes the world. Children of our generation shape the world by cleaning the community and they give food to people who don't have it.

I believe that our future has hope. As someone said in class, the children will be the ones to make a difference. They will change the world and make it a better and safer place to live.

After taking this year of World History I think that what motives people is happiness and out of selfishness.

The people in the 1 percent doesn't really care about the rest of the 99 percent they only care about their. wealth and power

Watching the "The Way Kids See It" video it inspired and amazed me that kids see things better then adults do. They have a great imagination that can be in use for the world.I thought this generation will turn out a mess but these kids make me look the other way.

I've learned so much about how the World is a pretty crappy place, but we love crappy things, like Justin Bieber, the only difference is crappy place more fascinating and better than a wasted space-JB- (Laugh*). I've learned of how people get caught up with ideas, so much that they forget to get caught up in our own ideas, but some have, keeps, and share their ideas, and their ideas pass on, and the rest get caught up with it, and That's to me is Darning History making!!!!(Scream YEAH!!!*). The timeline of ideas impacts all of us. You can see it in everyone different ideas that motivates people.(Think Serious*) Again Morality was the first ever idea of social interaction, making it part of us, something we're conscious of. Like school learning, we keep what we've learned. We take the ideas and imply it to our lives, being conscious of it, and that is what drives us as human beings. We have to take the ideas that we're being taught and i personally think we should criticize it, only than it can be a positive one, cause we're forcing the negativity (Science). History impacts the future. Sometimes good, amazing, unique ideas can't get across the generation, and i think we should be the messengers to carry it with us. We need to carry on those good ideas and use it around the world, even when it's only in one of few people minds. We need to look where the ideas fits in, how to imply them, and how to get it across as to what it should be. I've learned so much about my world this year, but in a different aspect, not historical facts (Applause*). I know my historical facts, but i also know the factors and the outcomes, and i can see the world in a broader aspects and larger timeline. I can determine why somethings are the way there are...BY USING EMPATHY AND THINKING! (Screaming YEAH*)
Historical Thinking is a very well structured thinking. We can imply it to other aspects of our lives. What ever forced that created Historical Thinking, i thank you, so thank you mysterious force. "The Empathy, is the first thing to understanding and changing the world, we need to let be alive in us, and should never ignore them. "

I think what motivates man to make the decisions that he/she makes is happiness. We talked a lot about this in the beginning of the year and watched plenty of videos. What motivates man to interact is power. Power also had to do with happiness. Most people may like to have control over everything and that may make them happy, having power. The definition of power is the ability to do something or act in a particular way, especially as a faculty or quality. We also talked a lot about power and control throughout the year. Power can someone's personality.

Throughout the year I learned that our generation is going to be the next big thing in a few years. We have the audacity to make a difference. Change the world even. Whatever we decide to do now affects what happens in our future. People in my class could even be apart of that difference. Just by you giving us an opportunity and a chance to make blog entries and share how we feel about the world choices. And look at us now, like you said in class people from all over the world our looking at our blogs. That's a big accomplishment for us this year. I feel as though that this could actually really help us later on in life. And to prepare us for the next courses every year as they may get harder and harder.

After learning more World History, I think that what motivates man to make the choices that s/he makes is for control and power. Control and power is what makes people rule over others that can turn ugly when it doesn't have to. Both control and power to me is like money since once you have both control and power over something, you will want more and more. During the Medieval period many slaves were looked down upon since they were the lowest class during that period.
This year has helped me to see history from the past the way that humans today see it. It also prepared me for when I live in the society on my own since this generation has yet so much to accomplish.
After looking at "The Way Kids See It" It really caught my attention on how the kids in the video would take their time to care for those that are starving when they could have done something else. If this were to continue around the world, there may be no more homelessness and everyone in the world will be respected and no more suffering like that would happen. I believe this generation will change the world because more and more generations have their own way of making the world a safe place to be, so this wouldn't be any different.

Through all of our studies and all of our research I came to believe that what motivates man to make the decisions that he or she makes in history is happiness and to have stability. It looks as if a lot of my classmates agree to this point also. Early in the year we started off talking about the early life of man and the Paleolithic, Neolithic, and Stone Age. They did what ever they needed to do to be stable and happy. Even cannibalism came into play at this time. The Stone Age brought about the use of tools, fire, and language which definitely helped sustain life and stability in their lives. This ties in with what motivates man to interact with others the way s/he does because they want to work together to achieve the necessities that are valuable to them in life. For example: happiness.
This year World History impacted the way I think about or see the world. I now have more of an open mind about things. I am more well-rounded in thinking about ideas and analyzing these ideas or events to get a better understanding and find out what motivation was behind them. When we read and deciphered "How To Get Rich Quickly" by Ibn Khaldun I am not sure why, but for some reason this really stuck with me because money really motivated and still does motivate many people to do what they do. After all of the current event videos we would watch in class it would really connect to back then and how to this day money plays a big role in motivation. This made me curious on how big of a part money will play in our future.
After I watched "The Way Kids See It", it triggered something in me to want to do more than I already try to do for the world and that I can actually make a difference. Even just our little class 9-1 could make so much of a difference in our community and we don't even realize. There is hope for our future! Our future is in our hands and we have control of how it can turn out to be. As long as we work together and strive for what we want, we can improve the global community easily!

I think what motivates man to do what they do is fear. I say fear because they may be afraid of certain outcomes so they react to try and change what they don't want to happen.
What I've learned in World History this year has made me take a closer look into the world. Some of the lessons have taught me that I am capable of changing things and I do have a say. For example, the video "The Way Kids See It". Children a few years younger than me have so many ways they can change the world and they're planning it now.
Our generation can change the world drastically. I feel as if we are the voice for the change that can happen. This video is one of many that shows our generation can create a better future.
This year in World History has given me a lot of knowledge on our world. If it weren't for this class and the way the material was taught, I don't think I'd be looking at the world like I do now.

During the school year of 2013 to 2014 my World History experience. Not only about history but things that will guide me to what I plan I doing with the rest of my life. Yes, it may seem a little farfetched. But, just like those children in the video I’m ready to make my mark on the world. “What motivates man to make the decisions that s/he makes in History?” Well I want to make the world a better place.
Some of the topics we talked about I honestly had no idea about until your class. I remember we watched a video about woman in Asia, specifically India. Their husbands were forcing their young daughters into marriage with grown men. It is very inappropriate and it bothered me a bit. Reassuringly, a couple days ago I saw something on social media about a big group of Indian women fighting back to protect their children from these early childhood marriages. This year was a big year for me in History and I believe I’ve grown a lot too. The ability to tie my life on the outside of school, to what I learned in this class has makes me feel really good about the future.
Also, the Take a Stand activities were my favorite! I hope that in African American History we do a lot of those. I enjoyed it mostly because it gave me an inside look on what my classmates thought about the specific topics. Not only did it do that but it also helped me get through it. For instance, if I was confused it helped me better understand what we were discussing.
After watching "The Way Kids See It", it didn’t really change my views all that much. I mean I already want to make a change and be successful in life. I understand I shouldn’t rush to grow up but that video kind of made me anxious to get started on planning my life and a career I want to jump into. Oddly enough I’ve also, been thinking a lot lately about how I would raise my kids when I eventually become a parent. Frankly I don’t think that’s a bad thing either because this class has taught me good decision making based off the decisions that have been made in history. I’ve become a better thinker because of your class.

World history definitely impacts our own lives everyday. When we hear the horrible things on social media or on the news we have to think of ways to improve, to make the world a better place. In the beginning of freshman year we talked about current events and how we today are impacted/affected. World History, to me, isn't very interesting but one thing I've learned is as I write papers and essays I need to use evidence to support my point. This isn't just for history, it's used in any subject I choose to take. The essential question is important to me. What motivates man to make the decisions that he/she makes? I think this can apply to anything not just in history. I think this can be used in general. I also believe this to says that anything good we do is worth doing because it gets us somewhere in life. In the video, " The Way Kids See It" shows how our generation can change the world in many ways. Even if we cannot stop war we can definitely help to improve our community by recycling, not littering, caring for others, and making people smile.

Learning about World History this year definately helped me see the way the world is today. It made me see how much change has taken place over the years and all the ways things became easier for us today. However along with the change such as our trading and inventing there came a lot of things that have damaged the world we live in. In my opinion I think with all the changes even though there is so much good a lot of it brings a lot of hurt to the world. For instance war is something that just doesn't end. Somebody is always fighting for something and by doing this it hurts the land which causes pollution, starvation, poverty, death, destruction to the world. I just think this is the way of the world because everybody is always looking for a better life. Noone is ever satisfied with what they have they always want more so there is always a way to make more money or to create something to make life easier and that is what everyone wants. Nobody thinks I should be happy with what I have they always want more. This is another way of the world. When I watched the video it seems that the people that always want to make a change are the younger people they have a heart and try to do something about it. I always feel that way. I am always willing to give a homeless person clothes or food. I just don't understand how people in office and stuff don't try and help these people. I've learned a lot about how history has shaped the world we are in and the situations we are in because of it. I wonder about the environment and is it going to be destroyed by the time I have kids. I would like to see the homeless and the people all over the world who are starving to help them have a steady supply of food. I remember learning about the "Black Death" or the bubonic plague and all the death it brought but when it ended it did come back. Its like they say History repeats itself and I think it does over and over again. Although I don't think that it will ever stop but I think every little thing that every single person tries to do to help makes a difference maybe not to stop it but it does in someone's life in this world that is so great but at the same time so messed up. Everyone can make a difference just by trying to fix something that is broken.

I believe a big motivator for mankind is life. Time and time again humans have proved they will do whatever they can to keep on living. Most decisions humans make have to do with lives, whether they're about enhancing it or making it harder. This year in World History has made me see the world as a place that is always growing and changing. In the future, I would like to learn more about what truly makes humans pleased with their lives.

I can imagine many people in our class using the knowledge we've gained from this course to positively impact the world. As a global community, we should all strive to make the world a better place.

After the ten months I've spent in World History, I believe what motivates man to make the decisions it makes is self-satisfaction and power. In class we have had various discussions about how man creates civilization for order and well being for himself. This creates law and organization, this makes man "voluntarily or involuntarily enter into the social contract". The laws that Hammurabi set for his people weren't beneficial to all the people of Babylon. This type of inequality created social classes, it put people in categories of who matters and who doesn't matter. This division still goes on in the world today, our nation was built on I work hard to get mine, and you have to work get yours. Politics during the period of the Roman empire is the same as politics today, which is based on personal wealth.
Power is a big part of how man survives and makes it in the world. During the age of exploration the 3 G's (Glory, Gold, and God) were a big part of why the Spanish wanted to go over to the other lands. In class we brought up the idea that land=power, and money=power. War started between empires, and countries because leaders began to want more power for themselves,
self importance plays a big part in why man started war, and conflict between other civilizations. Mans interactions became pompous and finicky, Imperialism is when a stronger country rules over another.Man still made its interactions based on greed and self satisfaction, total power is important to man today still.
I believe that us as a people should focus less on getting power and the opportunities of life for our self and focus more on how we will shape life for us as a people. I think man will accomplish something great when we stop doing everything just for personal gain, but make decisions that will help keep our civilization stable.

Through this year that I’ve had in history, I think that what drives man to make decisions is power and greed. Most leaders throughout history had wanted power, control and money. They will be able to make their own laws and decisions. But if there laws aren’t suitable for the people of the land. Problems will run amok. When equality and classes arrived, people were able to thrive in these classes but now very long. Wealth had the most power while the lower classes didn’t. Mostly due to differences in power and control and corrupted leaders lead to war. Like how Hitler started WW2 to gain power. Different methods like Imperialism and government branches like the executive branches how sort out these problems. The wars and shifts in power and government have led to what we have today, but it won’t stop there, there will be changes in the government in the future. Maybe one day we might never again change our government and be fine with it

After a whole years course of World History, I believe what motivates man to make the decisions that s/he makes in history is the motivation of change. People contributed to history because they wanted to make change and make society to the way they see fit. Back in the day people had made their own views on society and when brought up in conversations other people may have had the same views or debated about whose view is better. And we can relate those views to game changing events like the Holocaust and big genocides like the Rwandan Genocide, it was all fueled by one person’s or many people’s views.
And it made people interact with others certain ways because people would affiliate themselves with people they could fit in with and ignored others because they didn’t share the same views. Due to the fact that one person is different minded than one person’s views. And the video reflect the good things about views. As the kids in the video shared the same views trying to change the future in their generation. And for us being students and having a whole years course of World History really shows change in us and shows a development as learners as we adapt to a new world and a new generation

I think what motivates man to make decisions in history is the want for money and power. An example of that is imperialism. The countries’ rulers all wanted to control the means of production for power and wealth over the other countries. World History has definitely made an impact on how I view the world. It opened my eyes to so many of the issues that are happening around the world. One of the things in world history that made me the most curious were the videos on all of the world’s revolutions today. It showed me that just because we aren’t struggling and we don’t see others struggling in our own daily lives, doesn’t mean it isn’t happening around the world. It also has taught me how you can’t always see the world in black and white and that you have to see other people’s point of view things.
Watching “The Way Kids See It” really inspired me. It made me want to go out and do something good for the world. I want to go and make a difference. It shows that this generation isn’t just a bunch of kids who do nothing but play on their computers. They give me hope that when it is our generation’s turn to run the world we will be in good hands. I think as members of the global community the goals we can set a goal to make environments more peaceful for people to live in. We can try and make all places have gender and race equality. We can also work on stopping some violence in places, even if we can’t have total world peace. We can also try and end the world’s poverty and the world’s hunger.

I think what motivates man to make the decisions he or she makes is the power and money they can have. Imperialism is a good example of wanting money and power. Everyone wanted to be in control and wanted the wealth. I view the world a little differently after being in world history this year. We learned a lot about the different countries and how they were affected. People dying all over the world and learning about syria really made me look at things in the world different. It males you appreciate thing more in the world because bad things can happen at any time. I learned a lot about greece and the different gods and that really was interesting to me. After watching the video it makes me want to do things in the world to make it a better place. Doing such things as community service and inventing things can really help out the world no mater how small it may seem. Are generation shapes the world because theres many things we can do to make the world better. We can stop littering and polluting the air. There is much hope for our future if we just try and solve some of the problems that in the community. The government hopefully will change in the future and become more involved in the rights of citizens. That's what I learned from being in world history this year as a 9th grader. I am now ready to pursue more serious goals in life as I start my sophomore year.

I think what motivates man to make the decisions he make are for his own happiness. There are conflicts and wars in this world due to this reason. They interact with others for their own good. Both sides of an interaction can benefit from one another in life.

There were many times where I was impacted in this world history class. We learned to feel empathy towards historical events and things happening now too. It was interesting to learn another way of looking history. The class taught me how to think and analyze events that happened in the history of the world. The debates and conversations in class are very useful for thinking about why things happen the way they do. There are projects that allowed me to research things for my own and analyze these sources for myself.

The video “The Way Kids See It” assure me that there are actually motivation in our generation. There are people that we can rely on for the future. There are kids out there that want to change the world in a good way. It was really interesting to see these creative kids who are younger than us having great imaginations to help the world. This video makes me think that there are actually hope in our future. This generation have the ability to make the world a better place for all of us and for all the people in the future. I think some goals that we should set as members of a global community are making the world cleaner and also have people inspiring other people to be better human beings in the world.

I think that what motivates man to make the choices he/she makes is based on what they want to do and the impact they have in other people. I think decision making has a lot to with care. As we discussed in class today, everyone has a different meaning of the word care. In my opinion, care is an expression of appreciation or something that expresses your empathy towards the well being of others.

As I have completed this world history course this year, I have experienced what choices to make and what choices not to make. Decision making is and can be a hard process. For example, grades. Some people strive for high achievement because of themselves, others for their parents, and others just to prove to world that they are can do it. The way you reflect that or the amount of effort put into your work to reach these high achievements has something to do with your self. This is what I have learned throughout this course and my first high school experience.

I think that power motivates man to make the decisions that he makes in History. Throughout the entire year, money and power, especially of land, has played a huge part in History. To have power means to have control over others. For example, WW2 was all about power and taking complete domination over others. Another good example would be slaves and how they were owned by their leaders. The greed over power led to many issues like wars and fighting. Power also could be portrayed as fear. I think power is also the reason people interact with others the way they do. They may interact with others for their own benefit. Making allies is a good way to ensure you have others to be there for you an it gives you a better chance to achieve your power. Power plays a big part in everyday life. I think this year in World History has impacted my life because it helped me to realize some things. World History is about life all around the world. Before this year, I wasn't really aware of the situations of life outside of my own. After this school year, I learned that there is many problems around the world that impact us even if they have nothing to do with us. There are many problems, like pollution, that I was always aware of but I didn't really give that much attention to. Now that I have realized that these problems affect me whether I notice that or not, I now know that even I must take action to ensure the safety of our future generations. A lot of topics in history that make me curious are religion, the idea of where power came from, and the reason of what war will accomplish.

After watching the video the way kids see it, it inspired me to think in a creative way that these kids see it. As I was watching the video, I felt ashamed that there are kids younger than me trying to shape the world while I'm doing nothing to help. this shows that our generation must take action so that we can be role models to the kids younger than us, not the other way around. I think there could be much hope for our future if we start to care more about our world. I think goals we should set for our community is what we think is best to preserve our world so our children can live long, healthy, happy lives.

After the first year taking World History ,i believe what motivates man to make the decisions that s/he makes in History is power. Power gave right to make their own laws and decisions, and to have power means to have control over .I also believe what motivates man to make the decisions is his own happiness.
Through out of first year, I learned many different things about different countries. It teaches me about what already happened and what is happening right now in the world. The conflict and the issue around the world. Also the debates and conversations in class are very useful for thinking about why this issue is happening and how could we make it better. World history has taught me that people has different views on the world. I agree with Jennifer, I pretty enjoy the lawyer program that you provide for us. It’s my first time see a real court house and I really interesting how court works and solve the problem.
After watched “The Way Kids See It”, I saw that those little kids is really tried to hard to change the world today. There are actually motivation in our generation, if make me actually wonder what I have been doing for my 15 years. So I thought I actually want to change not only the world but also myself to become a better person and better place.

After watching "the way kids see it" i believe children can be paid to do anything! and do it dang well! I'm kidding thats a joke guys gosh chill out. that video makes me thing that all kids of all ages can change the world. we just need more kids like them!

What motivates man is the search for propose and meaning.wether it be exploring the world or fighting for freedom or being a dictator. everyone searches for a propose in life and a reason to be alive. Kings find meaning in ruling teachers find meaning in teaching. we all look for propose because we are motivated to be more then everything around us. deep down all people on earth believe they are more significant then for example a bear. Us as humans believe we should have meaning that we mean something. but we are simply out searching for what that meaning is. but after humans find what they think is there purpose we are unsatisfied. we believe there is more out there for us. well i found my meaning in life. i know i know, sure! i seem young but i have no more reason for searching, i have all i will ever need. "and Jesus said, I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of." John 10:10... Have you found your propose?

I believe that the decisions that motivates man to make the choices he makes has a lot to do with achieving a sense of happiness in their lives. Depending on the individual or the type of person they are, happiness can be achieved through many contradicting ways. For instance, it can be achieved through greed for power, land and money or it can be achieved through ways such as how individuals are willing to would put up with harsh working conditions just to support their families.

In this world history course, there has been situations where leaders never find an ending point to their greed and will always battle for more wealth, power, and land to gain a sense of superiority over other countries. If they know that they have the ability to overtake a smaller, less powerful country then they will not hesitate on overtaking the country. Just like how the Aztecs were overtaken by European empires.

Another approach of happiness that man attempts to pursue is to support their families as they were willing to put up with the harsh working conditions during the industrial revolution. Even children were often employed to move between and work through dangerous machines as they were small enough to fit in between them. It was common for workers to work up to 12 hours or more a day in the hot and physically exhausting work places. Exhaustion usually leads to the worker becoming sluggish which again makes the workplace even more dangerous.

After watching "The Way Kids See It," it has motivated me to become more positive and has inspired me to think of the environment I live in and think of how I can take part in making an optimistic and productive community for not just myself but others as well. I also find it extremely inspiring that there are young kids, younger than my age, who actually care about making our world a better place to live in, which makes me think "what have I been doing for the past 15 years of my life?" Therefore, I think that it is necessary for me to take part in community service, making myself happy and other happy as well as I am helping them or even comforting them through ways that I am able to do so.

After taking this history class I think that the thought of having ownership over things and being wealthy is what motivates man to make the decisions that he makes in history. Having ownership helps you interact with other people because you can get to the wealthier people. The meaning of ownership goes back to the beginning of the class. The value and meaning of ownership is important throughout the whole chapters from beginning to the end. This world history class helped me see that there are more problems than we think even if there small ones. In our history class we try to find a way to fix things or try to make it better. We put things into our own view and go deeper into the situation, like putting matters into our own hands and expanding our ideas and solutions. Some of the activities I liked in class was when we had our own class discussions without Mr.jobs. Or when two sides shared their opinion trying to win over the other side.

'The way kids see it' informed me that our generation are the new inventors and works for the future. There is a lot of hope for the future because these kids are hoping for a better future and trying to change it. The kinds of goals we should set as members of the global community is trying to help other people. Or keeping things clean, or trying to keep children out6 of trouble.

After a year of taking your World History class I think what motivates man to make the decisions he makes and does the things he does is happiness, and power. I don’t think back then the cavemen had fun starving to death because of lack of food or water, or the temperature being too hot or too cold. I found World History very interesting because even though I had my moments where I would drift off or just stop paying attention it made me think a lot also. Before I took this class I knew some off the stuff that we went over but, I never thought about how evolution changed us into what we are today. I never thought about how hard it would be to develop this entire new thing we take for grantee like ships, and trains, and air planes that cavemen didn’t have back then.
I think our past relatives have left the world in a good place for us to take over. Our past generations have made a ton of cool and unique inventions that we just have to make small adjustments on to make better. I think there is a very big hope for our future that our world will become even better than it already is. In the “The Way Kids See It” video there are already a lot of kids at very young ages trying to end world hunger, pollution and just help our environment.
Some goals we should set to end wars and violence could be to just talk it out. I believe that is two countries had a meeting they could just talk out their problems, come up with a solution and not have to go to war. The two countries might even be able to come up with a treaty that compromises both sides and is equal.

This year I was freshman at Gamp and my first time as a student at the school. When we started the year, I thought we would be covering the same topics that we learned at my old school. I did not enjoy the first term of history class, nor did I find the materials particularly useful. As the year went by I found that it started getting better and I was learning more about history. I started to accept your skills and methods as a history teacher. In advisory’s I would always try and share video’s or links to websites that I thought were important for people learn about history and the world. I think next year I will be more prepared for history class because of how much I learned this year.

I think what motivates man to make decisions (that he or she has made) throughout history is fear, vanity, revenge, inspiration and hope because over time people were driven to do these things in life that were important.

I think the video "The Way Kids See it" informs us that our generation can shape the world the way we want it to be. But if everyone in the world doesn’t start to help our planet to be healthy and use resources other than oil, global warming will start to affect everyone on Earth. There is still hope for us in the future to help make Earth a better place but if we don’t start making changes now, things will only get worse. It will eventually lead to war and violence in the future. Unfortunately nobody is doing anything about about the issues of hunger and homelessness. The goals I think we should set as members of the global community are using less energy and resources; start to recycle and pick up trash, and eating healthier foods.
If everyone doesn’t start doing this now our population will eventually become extinct and our planet will die.

This class has taught me that are many ways that I can change the world. This class has had many opinions and facts that could and will affect my decisions on what to do in life. This class has taught me that no matter how small or big, young or old you are you can still make a difference in this world. It has taught me that by us seeing videos of kids, teenagers, and adults making differences in the world. I personally think that we have no hope for future right now. I think there is hope somewhere we just haven’t found it yet. Like there are certain things that gone in the world where I can say “Yay! I will have a good future”. But then something horrible happens and then I say “Well, it was good while it lasted”. For war and violence it is just everyone taking as to be offensive. Like they will get mad over the tiniest little thing. Honestly, they are stuck on themselves and they need to stop being dramatic. They are acting like high school kids. For example, if Korea says America is a country full of fat people it’s a war! Just get over it. War is pointless if you want to handle something call a big mass meeting and handle it like civil human beings.

to add to my previous comment what motivates man is money. this is because without money you basically have nothing. also when it comes to the cavemen being successfully and getting out of the cave was their motivation.

I believe survival, competition, and the want of domination motivates man to make the decisions that they do. I think that there will always be a want to be the best, if not better than something around you. This thirst for power was shown back in Ancient Greece. Empires such as the Spartans, Athens and Pursians all warred against each other for a common goal: to reign superior over all other empires. Even after the end of Greece, the Roman empire was born. As empires fall, new empires will build from the past empires. During the discovery of America, there were many nations who wanted to claim the land there as their own. Man would even kill for it, which is exactly what happened to the Native Americans. Soon after that, nations would fight each other in an effort to claim the most land and become the most powerful. It is a continuous cycle of greed and thirst for power. We can see this motivation in modern day as well. For example, ever since the Industrial Revolution started, nothing else mattered but money and who was the best nation. World War I and II all started because of the thirst for power and superiority over all the other nations of the world. Germany wanted to be the most powerful around those times. Not only do nations as a whole want this power, but individuals too. Many people want to be the richest because money equals power. It has always been that way. No matter how drastic the world continues to change, this want for power will never suffice nor end. That is what makes the world what it is today. With this selfish world, I don’t believe there can ever be peace in the future.

Despite the harsh world, the upcoming generations may have a shot on changing the world for better. Instead of competing and fighting for who is best, people could come together and share ideas for a better future. I think this world is due for a change. War and hatred has just raged on for far too long. It has been thousands of years since the birth of it.

Throughout the whole entire school year, I have learned much from this History class. Mr. Job's history class is not any ordinary history class though. It is a class that constantly strives everyone to think together. We don't read through the text of the book like a boring class and learn what is written. Instead, we connect past events from the past to how it relates to events in the present. It really makes my mind run and think about the world. Although Mr. Jobs made me realize how dark this world is, that doesn’t mean we cannot make it a better place. Mr Jobs always inspires me to do good for the world and think about it. There are many fun things we did in this history class:

Group discussions were common. How could they not exist? It is not fun talking to yourself. Group discussions helped me share my ideas with other friends, and at the same time, intake my friends ideas. Everyone has different brains and ways of thinking. That is why it is always good to talk to other people.

I’ll never forget about the video project we did in this class. I learned so much about the Occupy Movement and how it is not much different from the French Revolution. It made me realize how although the time periods were far from close, they experienced similar problems. The world is not so different from before.

How could I forget about the blogs Mr Jobs made us do! It was a way to share the thoughts of everyone in the class online on a class blog! The most memorable blog was the blog on the meat packing industries. I would always enjoy reading interesting texts or watching videos and blogging about them afterwards. It helps share your ideas with other people on the blog and most importantly: gets your mind active and working!

Overall, Mr Jobs teaching has definitely made an impact me. Not only would he give us factual knowledge, but he gave us understanding and comprehension. He made me think outside the box. I used to never share my thoughts because I was always afraid to be wrong. What I learned was that opinions aren’t wrong, as long as one believes in them. I definitely became more comfortable with participating and sharing my thoughts compared to the beginning of the school year. I cannot see why anyone would ever dislike this class. For all you upcoming freshmen, be prepared to work your brain and think!! I just can’t wait to see what’s in store for African American History class next year!

World History has impacted the way I see the world. It has showed me to think before I act. The inquiry on the year was "what motivates man to make the decisions that s/he makes in History?" It mitt seem cheesy but I actually think "how would my reaction affect me and the people around me?" I can't help but to remember that the Neanderthals only thought for themselves. They would kill women that were with child and eat their babies brains. All for their own survival only they toughest survive. And that's the way they had to live but i learned from socialism that some things aren't alright to say.

The video of the kids trying to make the world a better place corresponded with "what motivates mankind." The kids were motivated by the hardships that they see around their neighborhood or in their economy. So again the question is what motivates mankind even though they are so young they are still aware of the pain and misfortune of others. I could never fully answer why people do such good deeds in life but I do know it's to survive in some way. They are trying to make the world better for all or maybe just themselves.

In this years world history class, I have learned that there are so many issues in the world that America is not exposed to because for the most we can go to bed with no worries. I have learned to be more understanding to other cultures and more appreciative to what opportunities I have grasp of in America. Finally, In this years class I have learned how to focus on what people say, and how to think historically.
I believe power and fear motivate man.
From the dynasty's we have studied I came to the conclusions that if it weren't for the want to over rule other dynasty's/ empires and have power, there would be no Roman Empire, as well as other major. Fear motivated man because if it weren't for the fear if being attacked, or going hungry Man would have not found ways of protection, and te art if plantin. And growing our own food to guarantee survival.

After taking World History and developing historical thinking, I believe that what motivates man to make the choices that s/he makes is an assortment of all the emotions that humans are capable of. For want of a better future, glory, greed, personal satisfaction and (when we are faced with man who thinks greater of others than himself) hope for greater good, man makes decisions based on him or herself. Man acts depending on the man. Most act out of greed and personal gain, others act for the good of other people and to insure that a safe future is ahead of them. However, mans wants and whims were not always so advanced. We started in CroMagnon, where man killed pregnant women and didn't care. We started without civilization or care towards others, with needs only of food and shelter. As man developed, new wants were found. Man developed his emotional standpoint on the world and found empathy, created families and settled down with other people. As civilizations adapted, mans greed for more land and power grew. When man took power, there were consequences. Think of the Berlin Conference, when Europe had gathered together to discuss which part of Africa they wished to colonize. The Zulu empire was crushed from foreign rule for the sake of land and better trade. This happens throughout history. Man is only as strong as his ability to fend off other men. That is why countries and kingdoms continue to grow by taking away other cultures. Man develops his sense of personal glory and achievement, which causes revolt from less powerful men.
By learning with historical thinking, I’ve definitely developed more historical empathy than I had when I started the year. Over time, I was able to see why leaders would act out of greed and what motivated them to do so. Strategically speaking, I learned in our ancient Greece/ Rome unit ways to use power and government. While some of the units showed the horror that mankind is capable of, they also showed the beauty. From the Mayans to the Renaissance to the Age of Enlightenment, we see flourishes of creativity and knowledge. Music, art, scientific discoveries, plays, bible; all the beauty and capability of mankind that develops throughout his journey present-day. Another historical experience was mans need for religion and what the need to believe in something bigger than themselves motivated them to do. People were persecuted for their religions, had a religion picked out by their government, listened to the Vatican for political decisions. Religion becomes a form of power and freedom as man develops.
After watching, “The Way Kids See it”, I’m hopeful for the future that lies ahead of us. Day by day, we get more advanced through technology, literature, art, and science. The future looks bright because even at school I see all sorts of things that are incredible, from people joining together to make music with instruments or just using their mouths. I see the wit and (slowly but surely) growing common sense. I think the bargain we make when we decide to grow up is that, though we will do a better job than the people who lived before us, we also have the generation after us to be even better. When I talk to my little sister and see how she treats people with respect, I believe in a better future than today’s reality. I believe the hope for our future lies in how we use our voices, for good or evil, or if we use them at all. What we try to do is formulate opinions that we feel strongly enough to impact the world around us, to make a difference and help to leave our mark on history.
I think the goals that we can set as a Global Community would be to work together for the greater impact of our voices, to use them to help better the future and the world around us. Man improves day by day when he takes steps of tolerance and kindness towards others, and also towards themselves. As a Global Community, we can work together to build compassion in others, and help to create a better world with better people.

Over the course of our year, our main objective was knowing and thinking about what motivates man to do what he does. I believe this mostly has to do with happiness, as other people also said. Most people do certain things so make him/her happy, regardless of circumstances or what can happen. I agree with Bella that happiness comes in all different types of ways in each historical age. Happiness now, is much different from what happiness used to be. I also think man does what he does because of power, which is also the way he interacts. Power revolve around happiness. If you have power, then why wouldn't you be happy? In this years history class, I feel as though I was positively benefited. I love how we did not just work from a text book all day, and interacted through talking. My blog skills did much improving over the course of the year, and I am much more confident while speaking my opinion. I became better at listening and taking notes without being told to. I also left freshman year with lots of information. My favorite section of world history was medieval times. I received and gained the most information from that section. The torture methods and prices to pay were insane. And also, if your master dies and your his slave, you die to! This was also the chapter that made me most curious and entertained. Also, during the medieval times, love came along, which I also loved. I had lots of ideas about our future generation video called "the Way Kids See it" Most children that age don't know about world hunger or pollution. Some children at the age of five are still learning their numbers, while these courageous children are thinking about how to make the world a better place and know the world for what it somewhat is. There is lots of hope for our future, and I greatly believe this. Our future generation provides hope and a better world. I feel as though our world will still, and always have violence occurring everywhere. In my opinion, You can not stop this. With this, our generation should be greatly impacted by this. Some people think that children's imaginations are much more wild then ours, but we can be the ones to make everything actually work, and make their inventions come true.

After one school year of World History, I believe that one person can make the right or wrong moves to access happiness or sadness. I learned some things that I never even heard about before such as how resources were founded and the differences of democracy, monarchy and other types of government. After watching this video, I thought it was inspiring to look at life the way it is today where America is using nations for oil and Russia is...well you know, Putin. Even if we live in the most powerful country, I believe the leader should stop messing things up. We can share our own opinions on anything, share them on the internet if it's a blog or Youtube. We should donate money to weak countries to help stablize governments. Gaddafi did this to help the African Countries. There are many opportunities to help build a better world.

Things that motivate man has really never changed over time. At the beginning of time the decisions made were for survival. Everything that occurred was to live and move on and survive. Later in time people still wanted to survive but now a new thing was on there mind; money. People wanted to become rich, concur land, own as much as possible and be as rich as possible. People interacted with each other violently for money and goods and it was really an ugly site. Even though such things as greed commonly overtook people and nations, many things grew and led to what we have today (industrial revolution).
After experiencing this World History course, many things have happened to me mentally. Seeing something like the North Korean situation, it really sparked my curiosity and interest on what is really going on. Other things like seeing little kids make a difference really makes me want to do something with my life and do it soon. I am a young kid and my options are limitless, why not make a difference? What stops me from being the best i can be and make a difference in the world? I loved this class and i love the way it was set up. It was one big discussion and really helped me grow and be prepared for college. It asked about feelings and it was something that was different than any other classroom i had been in before. I seen myself grow and i cannot wait for next year in this class.

After a school year of World History,I believe what motivated man to make the choices that he/she makes is happiness and Power. World History taught me that people sees the world ALOT differently than others. What motivates man to interact is power. Power also had to do with happiness. Most people like to have control over everything and that makes alot of people happy. During this year i learned that our generation will be the next big thing. We have the audacity to make a difference. We Change the world even.We have the audacity to make a difference.

I believe man was motivated to make the decisions they made in history because , of the benefits that came with it . Most things I've heard in history weren't done selflessly but , done to gain something out of it in the end . I think man interacts with others the way s/he does almost to experiment , in a way . What I mean is that man can choose how they react to others and their surroundings . They might feel the need to act polite one second , and indignant another , to experiment different actions & reactions .

I know for a fact this year in world history has changed how I view things in a good way . I feel as if I'm not as biased towards certain subjects , as I was before . My opinion has broadened and I try to focus more on facts , than what I personally feel on the matter . Colombus Day and the development of buildings are one of the subjects that caught my attention . I was inspired by the video . With the knowledge I've obtained from this class and the motivation from the video , I do believe that 1 person - even me - can make soo much of a difference

i think that the thing that drives man to make the movements and choices he does is to obtain happiness. one way is how people would fight in wars to obtain money land and power to obtain happiness.

Most leaders of countries or cities usually think that the more power, money, land that you obtain the more you will probrably be happy. Like hitler he wanted power he wanted there to be just one race of people he wanted a "pure race" which could rule ver others and be more powerful than others.

i think the topic that makes me the most curious is that of the world wars and how much destruction that they caused and how they really shaped the world we live in. i love how these things that caused mass destruction could come out in the end more peaceful to help and create these new technologies that now everyone has access to and how this wasnt possible many many years ago.

After this year of taking World History, I believe that power and happiness is what drives man to make the movements and choices that he/she in history. They use happiness to make sure that the people in their world can live their life easier and better. They use power to ensure that the happiness in everybody's lives are given to them.
This year in World History impacted the way I see the world by looking at how ideas are sprung up from other ideas and how the world we live in is due because of a chain effect. If I look back on something and try to figure out where it came from, like government, the adventure is never ending because one idea sprung to another, refining and perfecting a type of control.
After watching "The Way Kids See it", it shows me that kids CAN make a difference. Adults usually look down upon us but this time, I think that the tables are turned. The children of this generation and the next and so on have so much potential in my mind to get up and make a difference in our world and this tells me that there is definitely hope for our future.
