Introducing Supreme Court Nominee Sotomayor

Another historic moment. The Obama administration is truly changing the face of the American political system. If confirmed, Sotomayor will be the first Latina to serve on the highest court in the land.

How do you think that her background will help or hinder her work as "interpreter" of the law?

Sotomayor nomination inspires students at Bronx school
Students at the Blessed Sacrament School in New York City are considering more ambitious career paths now that a former student, Sonia Sotomayor, has been named President Barack Obama's nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court. "That's the best part of this," said Principal Grace Khemi. "Some of them will wake up and see the whole world is theirs. She just did it. All of them can." Daily News (New York)

i did a little research on sonia sotomayor and it seems like she really could help. Her hispanic backround is most definately an advantage not only to the hispanic community but to all races.I hope her say on illegal immigrants can make a diffrence, since she shows a"passion for miniority rights."
