My reaction to a epidemic, such as the Yellow Fever would be mixed emotions. Not only would I be petrified I would be flabbergasted. Everybody around me are dropping dead like flies. I wake up and find my mom's mouth and nose bleeding and I can't do anything about it. Of course I would be petrified! Close your eyes and imagine this disease just killing random family members! How about you imagine YOURSELF waking up with the disease! Now that's a suprise! Overall I'd have a normal reaction which is going crazy and freaking out according to the new Philadelphia, today. Other than freaking out I would have to go through with it unless it's not nationwide, but if not I'd scramble out of here with the rest of everybody.

If the similar epidemic broke out today then I would freak out.I would try to go to another country.I would not want to get sick because I would not want to die at a young age.To help other people I would try to be as good and helpful like a doctor, but try not to get the fever.Lastly,I would take care of myself and all of my family members as best as I possibly could. That's what I would do of a similar epidemic broke out in Philadelphia just like the Yellow Fever in 1793.

If an epidemic like yellow fever was to break out in Philadelphia I would stay and help. I would do that because I would rather die trying to help someone who is ill than die without trying to help stop the strange disease. To help I would try to make a cure for the disease and look after and care for the people who are ill with the disease. Another thing that I would do to help is to go door to door and visiting the ill people and treating them. But if none of that works I would just try to keep everyone relaxed and tell them that there is nothing to be afraid of and I would try to lead the city in a different direction than the one that they were taking. That's what I would do if something like yellow fever broke out in Philadelphia.

My reaction to a epidemic like Yellow Fever would be petrified, worried, and frightened. Everyone would be getting this disease which no one knew where it was coming from. Also, I would be frightened because if everyone is getting sick all together no one actually knows how or where this Fever is coming from and they would be terrified. Other than feeling frightened I would be worried because you never know when you are going to get the Fever and you might automatically get it and dropped dead.

Yellow fever! Its back dead, dead, everyone is dropping dead!
In today's world if yellow fever came back i would be terrified but a little hopeful that not as much people would die as last time. We have so much technology and we know much more than they did back then so i don't think it will be as serious. Plus, we have vaccines for it now and that could prevent many people from getting it. Even though it would be a crisis to the american people we are a strong and intelligent nation that will succeed to get rid of the disease.

After watching this video I was devastated. Even though it happened along time ago, I feel as if the lives lost still hang on within our hearts. I must disagree with any of my classmates that would stay and help, because even if that is the best thing to do, I would definitely flee. I'd feel horrified and wear a mask where ever I go to make sure that I don't get the Yellow Fever, along with making the rest of my family wear one, and I mean my ENTIRE family. I would also feel as if the world is coming to an end. Although we have vaccines, and medicines or even some of the most advanced technology, I would not feel safe at any cost. My life and my family are the two best things that I've got , and I am NOT risking any of those two by staying in an ill city!

My reaction to a epidemic, such as the Yellow Fever might be mixed emotions. It would only be that I would be terrified I would be super scared. Especially because Everybody around me would be dropping dead like out of no where. I wouldn't know what to do if I found my family lying on the ground dead. I can't really do anything about it except to get help. Who would imagine that people would become yellow and die. How can anyone imagine that a disease can turn you yellow then BAM you died! Now that's a Suprise isn't it? I'd never have a normal reaction which is doing nothing. Other than freaking out I would have to go through with it just like everybody else, which is called life. Just like everybody else you have a GOOD or BAD life and it happens. When it happens it happens.

My reaction to such an epidemic, as the Yellow Fever, and any upcoming epidemic of any kind, would be petrifying and almost sudden, like a flash of light right before your eyes. Think about it:that day, you are perfectly healthly, and then the next day, your nose is bleeding, your skin is yellow, and you`re being put in a coffin. If a similar epidemic broke out in Philly, I would get plane tickets to Africa, because if a Philadelphian with the disease went to Los Angeles and got the people there sick, it would become a national epidemic. Plus, if an epidemic like yellow fever broke out today, we would have a better chance fighting against it because we have advanced in the field of medicine. Also, I would be confused because one day, you are sitting on your porch, no sickness whatsoever, and then the next day, you`re coughing, and bleeding in the wrong places, and if you are unlucky enough, you have to watch your loved ones perish to the epidemic. It`s confusing how people can be on this world for a second and poof....they`re gone. One by one, it would take out the population, just like the Yellow Fever. Eventually, when a disease does hit us and creates an national epidemic, all of Philadelphia and mainly America`s population will slowly decrease, becoming the Fever of 2014

If a disease like Yellow Fever broke out I would freak out. Just thinking about waking up and seeing one of my family members with yellow skin and blood comming out of their nose and gums is scary. I would take my family and go.If everyone around me were suddenly dying I would ask if I was next. I don't want to die at a young age. After watching the video l am glad to not be alive back then. Before watching the video I thought Yellow Fever wasn't a big deal because it didn't last long. Yellow Fever was deadly and mysterious. It caused many people to flee Philadelphia. I hope there won't be a disease like Yellow Fever in the future.

If a disease like the Yellow Fever broke out I would be so scared and petrified. If I saw someone from my family or close relative with yellow skin and blood coming out of their nose and gums is scary.I would pack my bags with my family and move far away from here.If everyone in my family started to get the disease I would be so scared.I would wonder if I was next to get the Yellow Fever. After watching the Yellow Fever video I am so glad and blessed not to live in a time like this.If this ever happened I would pray to god that it would stop.I would be very scared and wouldn't know what to do. Hopefully nothing like this ever happens in the future!!!

what i think about the yellow fever is that ........ what do you think would happen if philadelphia was attacked by this sickness.you would wake up to kids loosing families people loosing lives. life would not be the same espeacially for philadelphia.

I would respond by staying in Philadelphia. I wouldn’t leave so I could be part of the new economy. I would also want to help people who caught the disease. I will be among the African- American nurses. I will be part of the needle trade to support my family. I would help throughout all f the epidemics that go on after that .I will help reassert the city’s value to the growing nation.

If a disease like Yellow Fever was to break out again I would be scared, paranoid, and disgusted. My first thought would be to leave before I was infected. My family and I would leave Philadelphia and move to another state because the thought of yellow skin and bloody noses are very scary.

If a epidemic such as the yellow fever broke out in philadelphia again it would be really serious.I would not be really scared because people are smarter now and we have more technology.I would not be that scared also because more all the people that were getting the yellow fever on the video were white so we might could not get it. But, just in case we could get it i would live as far away from water as i could.I could not have been thinking about going to another country because it was a world wide disease. That is what I would do if a similar epidemic to the yellow fever broke out.

Zora said...

If this epidemic was happening now I would flee Philadelphia to save my family, friends, and my life. I agree with Mikayla because she would flee too. In certain circumstances like I have no source of transportation i would stay and help people with Yellow fever and become a nurse. If anyone in my family had Yellow Fever I would be terrified and do anything in my power to help them.I would try to get a doctor and use every last dime I had to save them.

If a decease like yellow fever broke out again then I would freak out because there will be another chance for yellow fever to spread worldwide. Another reason is that people will die randomly while I just watch or become sick as well. It could spread worldwide because if a unknown person with yellow fever or something similar went into another country it will spread in that country and more people will get sick and die. It also is frightening because I can’t imagine people bleeding from their noses and other places we can’t mention.

If a similar epidemic broke out, I would flee the country immediately. This would be caused by someone who is secretly living with the flu. Then, they would die. That's why I would flee.

If there's a out break like yellow fever i would be terrified. To be in a situation were you could die at any time, that's pretty scary. I wonder, were would the president flee to I hope he does not create a whole new capital. The first thing i will do is try my hardest not to get near anyone that might be bleeding through there ears and mouth!ill, that's disgusting.

If a similar epidemic broke out,I would flee to Virginia. I would be scared of seeing people in their windows, yellow and blood dripping from their gums and noses. Death would be around every corner . Not even doctors and nurses could save me. If someone touched , I would have a HUGE chance of catching it. This is why I would flee and be scared.

If a similar epidemic broke today I would scream to the top of my lungs! The yellow fever of 1793 was very serious and and killed an estimated 2,000 people. If it broke today I would DEFINITLY take it seriously and flee.Since we no have more transportation like airlplanes I could pay for a trip to Jamaica,Haiti,Germany,or even Mexico! All I know is that I would DEFINITLY RUN!!!

Arianna C. said...

If there was ever an epidemic today like yellow fever, I would first help my family to get to safety so that they won't get sick and die. Then maybe I would stay behind make sure that I can help some people and while I'm helping those people I would get a Hazmat suit and some gloves to protect me from getting the disease. After I helped whoever I can, I would do some sort of test or physical exam so that I am healthy enough to travel outside of Philadelphia to go to wherever my family is.

What would I do if I was in danger of getting yellow fever?
If it was me in that scenario I would leave as soon as I heard of it. I would take all of my belongings and get the heck out of there! I would take all my family with me and I would not come back until the yellow fever stopped

My reaction will be full of worry, I do not want to see my family die in front of me or I die in front of them which makes them sad. I will run away with my family to some where safe.I will also be curious and surprise to the yellow fever happening again. I will wonder where it come from and to be surprise, I will say that I thought that the yellow fever was gone forever, but came back again and will kill many people again. What ever it is , IT will be a terrible disaster to everyone who live in Philadelphia. I just have to say that I'm going to RUN!!!

If the fever broke out again today I would be terrified, running wild in my mind, frozen on the outside. Everyone in Philly would be dropped dead and blood flowing through them. I would right away get the people I love if not sick, (I would pray for them every day) pack our stuff and go where ever life takes us. I would fly around the world till I know it is safe. If the fever did break out I would feel sad for the horror and pain for the rest of the people. My heart will never stop beating as fast as it is right now till I am dead. If any body tries to calm be down and tries to make me shh I will go even crazier and start slapping them till I feel better and let myself calm down. This is what I would do when the fever broke out.

If a epidemic such as yellow fever broke today, i would totally go ballistic and flee Philly. I am NOT risking my life staying there. Just imagine: one day you're frolicking in a flower field, the next day yo see a neighborhood totally deserted besides all the bloody corpses on your sidewalk. I would hope to the love of god that my family, friends and I blow that popsicle stand!

if an desise like yellow fever struck our city i would not risk my life i would leave philadephia in a split second i will no be bleeding in places not able to be mentoined or at all or high fever or die just imagine you are walking down the street you would see people drop down dead and mysteriously bleeding every where.

There are many empidemics similar to yellow fever like Cancer and scabies. Here are some things I would do if these disesases were to get out of hand (lets hope it doesn't). First, since there is technolgy unlike 1793 when they didnt't even know what germs were.I wouls get tested or get treatment. Next,If i didnt have the disease I would try to aviod the people who might be contagious.Lastly If the disease was being carried by bugs or animals I would try to prevent myslef and my family from getting bitten. Those are some of the calm things I would do.

If anyone epidemic like this broke out I would flee the city. I won't run away because my own safety but for me to be alive to find a cure for the fever. I would try to be as careful as possible. I will carry hand sanitizer and tissues just in case. Don't say I'm overdoing it it's for my own safety. So I would try to cure my community from the Yellow Fever. So that is my answer to the question " What would you do if you were faced with an epidemic such as the Yellow Fever? " And I have a question for you Mr. Jobs, what would you do if you were faced with an epidemic like this?

My reaction to the Yellow Fever would be a little scared and/or try to help others or my family members. I would be scared because I'm just walking and all of a sudden someone drops dead right next to me. I would try to help because I am a helpful girl and I like to help other people and to rescue them.

Even though I wasn't able to see the Yellow Fever video, and I wasn't able to see it in class I still think it was a great video. I'm sad that I didn't see it, but I can still predict what happened. I think it was crazy that people were coughing up blood. Also that they didn't know it was related to bugs, but then again they didn't know what it what germs were. If that happened today I would probley gather up my family and we would probley take a plane to someplace else. If someone was left behind I would go back and get them. Luckily, the Yellow Fever isn't here right now. And I hope it will never come to Philadelphia again.

My reaction to the yellow fever if it just came,I would be scared and told my family that we would have to leave this state right now.I would take anything with me like food and water/drinks.

My reaction to the yellow fever would be calm, relaxed, and a bit scared. First of all we humans are advanced in the field of medicine and technology to stop the cause of the yellow fever. So there would be no need for any worry. Also I would help by treating people and help prevent the cause from happening. Also if there wasn't a treatment for the yellow fever I would risk my life saving others than to run away feeling guilty. If the yellow fever did happen it would be a shock to the United States and I think it would be a tough time for america

Daija said...

If something similar happened today I would be horrified.Luckily we have a lot of technology and possibly find a cure.It would be very horrifying because the yellow fever spreads very fast and kills people fast.

Parker said...

If a epidemic like yellow fever happened, I would most likely run to Russia, Sweden, Finland, or the UK. I know that I might lose everything, I might keep playing my favorite sports like hockey. I wouldn't come back until the yellow fever is completely gone. The fever would not be as serious as in 1793, but it could kill some people. Therefore I am willing to flee.

In our generation, we are super attached to our phones and other electronics so I think people would most likely make a status update like "Lol I got the Yellow Fever #Ewwww #lol #coughing !"

We learned many things about Yellow Fever so far, but it would be horrible for this to happen again. Well, if this happens again I would stay and try to live as long as I can. I would stay and try to live as long as i can. I would volunteer like Sarah Bass because she knew she was risking her life on people judged her by the color of her skin.
