The short term consequences from the Communist victory in Vietnam was that many of the civilians were murdered in order to control the countries. Millions of other survivors were forced to be imprisoned or flee their homes and leave everything behind.
Some of the long term consequences would be that after the victory the economy plumitted* drastically. after struggling for economic stability, both north and south vietnam worked together in order to accomplish a free market economy. But still today, the people of vietnam are unable to elect a ruler to govern them or show their political desires because of the heavy hand of communism upon their shoulders.

Short term: about 5,000,000 southeast asians were murdered and others were imprisoned or ran away.

Long term: Communism was a failure because the soviet Union fell and Vietnam had to throw Communism away. They were really influenced by the Soviet Union.

The short term consequence was that after the Vietnam communists won that meant that civilians would be either killed ,flee ,or be held capture in Vietnam.Long term consequence is that after the victory in Vietnam the economy in that area decreased drastically which caused the North and South Vietnam to search for economic stability

Some of the short term consequences are that the civilians were killed and after Vietnam won many had to flee, becoming displaced. Or having to captured and or killed.

Long term; communism was a failure , and the economy was a bust. This causing them to search for enconomic stability.

~One of the consequences of America's new economic vulnerability was the dependence of oil during this time. As a result, America started to go through a energy crisis. In addition, this natural resource was being used up before it could even restore itself. Followed by the discovery of Rachel Carson in which she found harmful effects of the use of pesticides. Another consequence was the increase of prices and by the decrease in objects; inflation.
