I got an important note that will add nicely to our exploration of World religions. When we had students teach Judaism we learned that Jews referred to "God" as Yahweh. After a conversation with Ms. Levine, I must pass on new learnings about this idea of how God is spoken of (or not spoken of) in the Jewish religion. In Jewish prayer books, the word "God" is written "G/d."
"Yahweh" is not a real word. Jews write the word Yahweh as "YHVH." It is taboo in the Jewish religion to speak God's name. Rather than say the name "Yahweh" in sin, the words "Adonai" and Hashem (a more conservative term) are used in place of the term.
Food for thought and cultural enlightenment.
